Title: Greek Heroes

Student Name: Connor B.

Category: Book Trailer

Division: 6-8

Process:

The first thing I did was decided what book to do. It was pretty easy because I had just finished reading it. It was Percy Jackson’s Greek Heroes. I decided to use the intro of the book to my advantage and used part of it. Then I picked a background. I wanted it to be dramatic and I thought the most dramatic color is black. I had a problem with centering it and it took me a while. I also kept on forgetting to bring the book to school. After all of that I worked on the transition. I wanted it to be dramatic, but not too fast, so I used the option that makes the transition longer to make it a length I liked and worked for the project. Then I saw that I needed to make the words bigger, so someone could see it easily and I also made it white because the color it was now, no one could see it. Then I submitted it to Google Classroom after naming it what I was supposed to.

Title: Midnight Adventure

Type: Composed, for a piano

Student Name: Joby M.

Category: Digital Music Product

Division: 6-8

Process:

  1. I downloaded an app called Notation Pad.
  2. I opened the app and used the free version of the app that didn’t require any money.
  3. I then clicked on the plus sign in the top left of the app, this button creates a music sheet that I can put notes.
  4. I made my title, Midnight Adventure, match the notes that I had come up with, I made the music fast and very loud and quiet at some parts of the song. I tested many different types of rhythms that made my song sound the best. I added notes on the treble clef line (top line), and the bass clef line (bottom line) , so that I had notes backing each other up. I also wanted a harmony and a melody for my song.
  1. The way I uploaded my song was for me to go into my song from the “My Scores” screen. Then, I clicked the down arrow in the top right of the screen, which brings down 4 more options. I clicked the one on the very bottom, which was an up arrow inside of a square. It brought me to another screen, which I went to the bottom and clicked on the very bottom option to make it an audio file, which was a MIDI audio file. That button made another menu which let me upload my song to my Google Drive.
  2. Once the songs were in my Google Drive, I had to get a computer so I could access Google Classroom and my drive. I went on my Drive and clicked on my song, which allowed me to download my song into my download file. From the download file, I uploaded my song onto the assignment on Google Classroom.

Title: Soccer Formations

Student Name: Caleb B.

Category: Infographic Product

Division: 6-8

Process:

The first step in making my Infographic is I chose my topic, gathered information, and chose the website I used to make the infographic. The topic chosen for my infographic is strengths and weaknesses of soccer formations because I have knowledge on this topic. I gathered information on soccer formations from the website Sport Session Planner. I chose to use Canva to make my infographic because they have a design just for infographics.

The next step I took in making my infographic is I made the title, chose different colors to represent strengths and weaknesses, and added pictures of a soccer field and the circles to represent the players and put them in the correct spots to represent that formation. The title of the infographic is Soccer Formations and I chose to put it at the top because I wanted to be the first thing you see. I chose red to represent weaknesses because red represents bad and I chose blue to represent strengths because blue is considered to be the opposite of red. Then I made one side blue to represent strengths and red to represent weaknesses. Next I added four pictures of soccer fields to represent the four formations. Then I added circles to represent players and put them in the matching formation so people know what each formation looks like.

Additionally I added black barriers, my sources, and two soccer balls. I added a black barrier between the title and spot for information so you can easily spot the information. A barrier behind the pictures to better separate strengths and weaknesses. I also made the empty space below the information black so people can easily spot the sources. I made two citations for the pictures and information and placed them below the information in white text so you see them on top of the black background. I also added some text that said “Sources:” so people could tell that those were my sources and put them above the citations. Then I added two soccer balls next to my title to fill in space and to tell people at a quick glance that it was about soccer.

Finally I added the information, put numbers that represent each position on top of the circles in the picture, and I added two subtitles. I added the information gathered from Sport Session Planner on its appropriate side with the name of the formation above it so people could easily tell what information goes with each formation. I put numbers on each circle so people know what player the information is talking about. I added two two text that said “Strengths” and “Weaknesses” on top of the barrier between the title and information if their appropriate color and side so people know what each color represents.
